The spooky season is upon us, and if you’re looking to have a ghoulishly good time this Halloween without eating enough candy to end up with a frightening dental bill, we’ve got a little something up our sleeve.

We’ve concocted two healthy Halloween smoothie recipes in our Crazy Nutrition cauldron that are as delicious as they are nutritious.

So, get your cauldron, we mean blender, at the ready—and give it a try—if you dare.

Sauron’s Eye Protein Smoothie

Sauron’s Eye

If you’re a Lord Of The Rings Fan, you’ll love this. Come to think of it, if you’re not a Lord Of The Rings fan, you’ll still love this.

This ‘no nasties’ yet still suitably spooky Halloween protein smoothie looks like the all-seeing Eye or Sauron (or Frankenstein’s Monster’s eyes after a heavy night on the spook-quila shots!). It’s also monstrously more-ish and packed with powerhouse nutrients.

Here’s how to make it…

Ingredients

  • 1 x beetroot
  • 1 x sliced apple
  • 1 x segmented orange
  • 1 large handful of smoothies
  • 1 generous scoop of protein powder
  • A third of a cup of orange juice
  • 1 slice of banana
  • 1 blueberry

Method

This is so simple it’s scary. Add all of your ingredients to your blender or bullet (put the scoop of protein powder in last, along with the orange juice. Also, don’t add the banana or blueberry).

Whizz everything up until the consistency is nice and smooth. Pour it into your favourite drink vessel. Place the sliced banana on top of the smoothie with the blueberry on top of it to make Sauron’s Eye.  Enjoy!

The Franken-Smoothie

Frankenstein

Behold, the mighty Franken-Smoothie. This ghoulishly green protein smoothie is (of course) inspired by Frankenstein’s Monster (hence the green colour scheme), and as there’s mango thrown into the mix, it boasts a vibrant zing.

Again, this scarily simple elixir is healthy, lip-smacking, and easy to bring to life.

Let’s get to it.

Ingredients

  • 1 x mango
  • 1 x banana
  • 1 x handful of smoothies
  • 1 x cup of spinach
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 x scoop of protein powder

Method

Again, whizz up all of the ingredients (excluding the blueberries) in the blender with a quarter of a cup of water, adding your protein powder last. Blend until your smoothie is nice and smooth (oh, and ghoulishly green!).

Add to your favourite vessel, and draw a cheeky Frankenstein’s Monster face on the glass with a non-permanent marker. To finish, place the handful of blueberries on top of the smoothie as the hair. Aaaaand, enjoy!

Happy Halloween

We hope you enjoy these spookily healthy Halloween protein smoothies as much as we do. And, if you’re looking for a protein powder to add to your smoothies—one that goes the extra mile—try Tri-Protein from CrazyNutrition.
